Lot # 7100-0465Northern Alaska/Canada; female17-18" long plus tail dark gold with some brown hairs head and neck whitish with brown hairs bright medium dark gold abdomen; cased super, super, super heavy winter fur. #1 select quality. Often dubbed "canary marten" by fur trade. A year ago there were 59,439 marten sold by the largest Canadian auction house. Of these 33 (0.00056%; 1 in ~1800 skins) were of unusual colors as designated by the auction house. We bought all of them and just got them back from the tannery.
