Lot # 7100-0472Northern Alaska/Canada; males22-23" long plus tail; extra wide skin; huge skin medium dark gold color; some brown guard hairs whitish head, anterior neck with brown hairs super, super, super heavy winter fur; cased has white underfur. Super, super, super heavy winter fur . #1 except ~2" longitudinal cut in underside of neck; ~3/8" cut at abdominal base of left front legskin; Often dubbed "canary marten" by fur trade. A year ago there were 59,439 marten sold by the largest Canadian auction house. Of these 33 (0.00056%; 1 in ~1800 skins) were of unusual colors as designated by the auction house.
